For the third year running, the second variable value stamp ‘Post & Go’ issue of 2023 released by the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau forms part of the EUROPA series.
Whilst the common theme planned for the EUROPA 2023 special issue was to be ‘Underwater Flora and Fauna’, in April 2022, PostEurop, in response to Ukrposhta’s proposal that by way of showing solidarity with Ukraine, decided to change the theme to ‘Peace, the most important value for humanity‘.
As in previous years, on March 30th 2023 the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau issued two ‘traditional’ stamps for the EUROPA series; one with a design common to all participating European postal administrations, and another illustrated with a colourful design by Stephen Perera. This latter one featured the world’s most recognisable symbol of peace, the dove of peace. This is also the design used on the labels for the ‘Post & Go’ issue.
