Åland Post first started releasing illustrated variable value stamps annually in 1996, at first with individual Frama-type designs and from 2018 onwards with various series of four designs. Throughout the 27 years, a good part of the issues has been showcasing the flora and fauna of this archipelago. It is a wonderful collection, with depictions always very carefully designed, inviting you on a voyage of discovery through the articles published in our previous website, the VARIABLE publication, and also through the illustrated catalogue in GALERÍA ATM.
The 2023 series is again dedicated to local flora, with four colourful and funny designs by Finnish designer Mari Oksanen illustrated with garden berries. The four varieties depicted are blackcurrants (Ribes nigrum), gooseberries (Ribes uva-crispa), raspberries (Rubus idaeus), and strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa).
