Once again, in January 2025 the Correos philatelic service released a series of two ‘definitive’ issues of variable value stamps. Two issues which, unlike other commemorative designs issued during the year, will be available from the IAR postal kiosk installed at Correos branch 53 in Conde de Peñalver, Madrid, throughout the year, except when this machine is used for a few days at special philatelic events. All the variable value stamps printed by this kiosk, in any location, include the ES01 code.
The issues are dedicated to the new Correos museum in Toledo and the historic 1925 De Havilland DH 60 Moth aircraft.

Announced in March 2021, the new Correos museum in the historic centre of Toledo could finally be inaugurated in the last quarter of 2025. The design of the variable value stamp is a preview of the new museum’s logo, an “m” next to a historic letterbox mouth that is part of the museum’s collection. This cast iron and brass letterbox comes from the old post office in Cuenca, where it was installed until the middle of 1955.

The other design is the second in the series dedicated to historical aviation, a collaborative project with the Fundación Infante de Orleans (FIO) (see 2024 issue). In 2025, the series commemorates 100 years of the De Havilland DH 60 Moth, a two-seat touring biplane introduced in February 1925, manufactured by the British De Havilland Aircraft Company. It is the oldest aircraft in FIO’s collection.
