The Correos – Spanish Post Office’s philatelic service will attend BOSTON 2026, the World Stamp Exhibition to be held from May 23rd to 30th at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Among the special releases for this major international event, will undoubtedly be the new ATM issue, the star attraction, from Correos dedicated to the San Telmo ship. This is because BOSTON 2026 will host a major exhibition of polar philately; the San Telmo disappeared in September 1819 off Cape Horn and wreckage was found months later on Livingston Island, suggesting that the crew may have been the first to set foot on the Antarctic.
The four stamp set planned for BOSTON 2026 will for the first time include, for Spain (though not for Andorra), the indicators corresponding to the four current tariff zones: Tarifa A, B, C & D. Tarifa D indicator corresponds precisely to the first weight step for the United States.
