FRANCE. The 2026 Salon Philatélique de Printemps in Calais

Calais, in northern France, was chosen as the venue for the 2026 event of the Salon Philatélique de Printemps. Its large harbour and Eurotunnel make it France’s main link with the United Kingdom. The Belgian border is also less than 50 km away but unfortunately, however, none of this helped to attract visitors.

This annual spring philatelic fair has been organised since the 1980s by the CNEP, the Chambre syndicale française des Négociants et Experts en Philatélie. Unlike the Salon d’Automne, which is held every year in Paris, the idea was to promote and decentralise philately by holding these annual events in other cities across the country. And so it remained until 2015, when the organisers then decided to alternate the Salon between Paris in odd-numbered years with another city in even-numbered years. This is why the 2024 Salon was held in Salon-de-Provence (article), the 2025 event in Paris (article), and in 2026 in Calais.
