In a digital world, where much of human experience and social interaction has shifted from the physical to the virtual realm, we should be grateful that, at least once a year, philately takes centre stage and is showcased for a few days at one of Madrid’s most visited and bustling spots, the Plaza Mayor.
The National Stamp Fair has changed a great deal over its more than 50-year history, but remains, together with EXFILNA, one of the main annual philatelic events in Spain. And let’s hope it stays that way for many years to come.

Correos, through its philately department, in collaboration with ANFIL -the Spanish association of philatelic dealers- and the FNMT-RCM, the Spanish mint, puts in significant effort in the preparation of these events.

In 2025 the 55th National Stamp Fair changed from its usual dates of May–June to early autumn, and was thus held from September Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th. Correos set up a large temporary pavilion measuring 950 m², opposite the Casa de la Panadería, with the same layout as in previous years. The twenty commercial stands were arranged in two rows along the sides of the pavilion, with the Correos and FNMT institutional booths located in the center, with an area set aside for presentations, ceremonies and lectures.
